Geographically, the system starts from the Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qinghai province and ends in the Zhumadian in Henan province. The 1,587 km power line extends across four provinces including Gansu and Shanxi. The UHV project is developed by the State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC). This will be the first UHV project worldwide that serves both the PV power generation and the supply of clean energy, with 8 GW of transmission capacity expected.<\/p>\n<p>We have seen more and more solar projects built on deserts. The application of PV on desert soil provides shade and will potentially allow for the soil to grow plants and allow green pastures, apart from generation of green energy, which boosts ecological benefit.<\/p>\n<p>Jor Chen, Technical Manager at Clenergy commented: \u201cCompared with other terrains, the desert areas are more complicated when it comes to the distribution of solar plants. Apart from its complex terrain, the desert areas are more susceptible to wind erosion, sand and dust, and other harsh natural conditions. It is applicable for various terrains, which can accommodate slope tolerances up to 20%. EzTracker D1P also allows for easier maintenance, because of its modular design. Compared with the fixed-tilt system, EzTracker D1P can increase power generation by up to 20%.<\/p>\n<p>This solar plant is scheduled to be completed in earlier September. It is estimated that the solar plant will generate up to 33.726 billion kilowatts of clean power annually. This means approximately 11, 242 tons of standard coal and 28, 026 tons of carbon dioxide emissions can be cut every year!<\/p>\n<p>William Cao, Vice General Manager of Clenergy commented: \u201cClenergy has been committed to a cleaner and safer world, where our future generations can rely more on renewable energy sources. We are very proud we have completed another innovative project, and especially happy to work together with other established solar PV stakeholders on such a landmark project.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This UHV project is set to commence operation in 2020. When pushed into full operations, it will start transferring renewable energy into the Qinghai province to the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River. This will help to address the issues of idle capacity in northwest China while fulfilling the increasing electricity needs in Central China where there is an imbalance between supply and demand.<\/p>\n<p>William Cao added: \u201cWe believe projects like this will accelerate the transformation of China\u2019s energy mix with a larger share of renewables while contributing to optimized
